What time do sales start?

Victoriana and General and The Fine Art and Antique sales start at 10am, for details of the Toy and Collectors sale and Wine sale click on Calendar.

What does it cost to sell at auction?

Fine Art and Antiques Sales 15% (plus VAT)  plus a small contribution to photography, 

Victorian & Later Weekly Sales 15% (plus VAT) together with a £10 entry fee per consignment, 

Wine and Toy Sales  15% (plus VAT). Please Click on 'Information for Sellers' for full details.

A charge may be made for electrical PAT testing of £4 per plug

What does it cost to buy at auction?

We have a buyer's premium of 17 1/2%  plus VAT.

Can I leave a commission bid?

If you are unable to attend the sale we can bid on your behalf up to your maximum price, but otherwise as cheaply as other bids and reserves permit.

Do I need to register to buy at your saleroom?

In order to bid in a catalogue sale you will need to register for a bidding number.  All we need is your name, address and telephone number.  Your details remain entirely confidential and all buyers remain anonymous.

We still use the traditional method of names in our weekly General Sale.

Do we collect and what do we charge?

We can collect your items at a charge of approximately £42 plus VAT an hour.

Do we deliver items purchased?

We no longer undertake packing and despatch but highly recommend the following:-

Can I put a reserve price on my items?

Yes providing that the Auctioneers agree the price.

How do I find out how much my items are worth?

We have several different valuers, one of whom is generally on the premises.  You are welcome to pop in for a free verbal appraisal at any time. Alternatively an appointment can be made to see a Valuer to discuss your items.

If successful, how long have I to pay and collect?

All items must be paid for and collected within two days.

What are your office opening times?

We are open Monday to Friday 9am - 5.30pm and Saturday mornings 9am - 12.30pm
